Bleedingham
A Northwestern Horror Short Film Festival

What is Bleedingham?

Bleedingham Film Festival  is an annual short horror film festival hosted by the Pickford Film Center each October in Bellingham.

Beneath its spooky exterior, Bleedingham's ongoing mission is to provide Pacific Northwest filmmakers with an opportunity to receive accolades from their peers, as well as gain critical feedback from a panel of judges chosen for their experience in horror, filmmaking, and digital storytelling.

Filmmakers from all over Washington submit short horror films to compete for a $1000 grand prize in addition to awards based on the panel of judge’s scores and feedback.
Bleedingham's award ceremony trophies, called Bloodies, are given to the top films in each category. Each Bloody is hand-crafted by Bleedingham's co- founder and resident special effects master, Langley West.

Recently, Bleedingham has added a second day of horror short films from out of state and international filmmakers.
To preserve the integrity of our mission to our fellow northwest filmmakers, we decided to have all out of state entries judged as a separate division.

The awards ceremony for WA State filmmakers is held at the end of opening night of the WA state film screening. The International awards will be announced on the second night of films.

A unique experience that appeals to both filmmakers and horror fans alike, Bleedingham has become more competitive, but is still accessible to the novice filmmaker. Generally limited to narrative shorts (less than 12 minutes in length and excludes music videos, film trailers, and advertisements) and must be made within the last two years.

Thanks to the the tremendous support of the local Bellingham business community, there will be many audience prizes and other goodies for fright fans and filmmakers alike.
