Bellingham Human Rights Film Festival (BHRFF)
Inspiring Action Through Film
Through an annual February film festival, BHRFF supports independent filmmakers, fosters dialogue and promotes action. In 2017, about 2100 attendees viewed 25 films.
For seventeen years, volunteer committee members have selected scores of insightful and moving films they hope will encourage the community to explore and engage with critical issues. Films are followed by facilitated discussion, some led by the filmmakers themselves.
Award Winning Festival
BHRFF received a 2015 Mayor's Arts Awards that recognizes the outlet it provides to filmmakers in addressing challenging issues.
The festival has also been listed as one of nine"Film Festivals That Are Making A Difference" in the U.S.
Amnesty International USA's local Group 270 received an award for its financial and volunteer support of BHRFF.
Submissions accepted mid-August through mid-October.
Submissions can be by e-mail notice to us under the BHRFF website "Contact Us" tab. Please send a Vimeo or other link to your film. In your message please tell us the year of the film's release, the length, and the general topic. You can also mail a DVD and cover letter to us at:
