In an effort to bring as many people as we can. We need to organize carpools to Olympia. If you have a car and are willing to drive other filmmakers please list the number of seats available in your car and the amount you'd like people to contribute to gas.

There is a Town Hall event happening in your district on Saturday, March 14 with Sen. Ericksen and Reps. Van Werven and Buys at Whatcom Community College at 1-3pm.

For the Town Hall, we are requesting your help in bringing 5 - 10 people to this event so they can ask the Senator and Representatives to support SB 6027. Specifically, the main talking points should be:

Film and television productions bring a huge economic boost to our communities:
Every dollar given in funding assistance by Washington Filmworks generates nearly $4 in direct spending and over $10 in total economic activity for Washington State.
Since 2007, motion picture projects approved for funding assistance by Washington Filmworks in the State have brought in an estimated $96.3 million in direct in-state spending.
Not only do film productions quantifiably boost spending, but also the tourism resulting from seeing our state in TV and movies is immeasurable.

Our communities depend on living wage jobs:
The film and television industry brings good paying jobs to our community. Over seven years, the film incentive resulted in an estimated $44 million in direct wages and benefits for Washington residents.

Washington's film incentive program is the only one in the world that

requires industry standard payments for health and retirement benefits.
The film incentive helps fund training and education to develop a highly skilled network of film and television professionals in our state.

We only fund projects that have already invested in Washington State:
The film incentive is a model program for direct investment in our state. Instead of attracting outside business, incentive dollars only go to productions that have already hired in-state labor and companies.
Few other state-funded incentives deliver this level of investment in our communities.

Bellingham Film Festivals is looking for your help!!! We are putting Bellingham on the map for filming in Washington state, we can and will do this, how much you put in is entirely up to you! Join us for our first brainstorming session this February 5th from 7pm to 8pm at the WECU Education Center @ 511 E. Holly St.

One thing we need in our community is clear representation of the types of film resources that already exist. We encourage everyone to bring a friend, and if you've been involved in film production here keep in mind we are organizing B'ham film resources. We want to hear about more productions companies, talent agencies, studios, film friendly locations/businesses and anything else you can think of that somehow fits into the world of film.
